CAFE AT LEWERS BRAND ASSETS

THE CLIENT

Cafe at Lewers is a cafe situated in the beautiful heritage gardens of the Penrith Regional Gallery. The cafe offers a affordable and seasonal menu with breakfast and dinner options.

THE PROJECT

Cafe at Lewers required a gradual brand refresh that reflected the laid back atmosphere of the cafe while referencing the surrounding gardens and historical architecture. This project was an interesting challenge as the end goal was to create a visual identity that would sit comfortably alongside the Penrith Regional Gallery’s pre-existing branding while still being able to have a personality of its own. While sipping on a coffee at the cafe, the architecture of the Lewers House located on site is very apparent, we realised it was important the main logo referenced this.

THE PROCESS

To achieve this we:

• Created three logo variations that could be utilised and yet still recognised across all media such as social media platforms and email signatures where detail would be lost. These logo marks were used across multiple medias within the brand including print, digital and more recently displayed across Penrith Panthers collateral as Cafe at Lewers has become a recent sponsor of the team.

• Initially we were able to produce a number of digital and print deliverables to gradually launch the new branding including business cards, brand guidelines, logo marks, on site signage, social profile pictures and Giphy stickers for use online.

• Created a collection of documents in Canva allowing the client to update and change their cafe offerings seasonly.

THE RESULT

The final product resulted in a visual identity that would sit comfortably alongside the Penrith Regional Gallery’s pre-existing branding while still allowing the Cafe at Lewers to be able to have a personality of its own. The final logo is fun, organic and makes a clear reference to the Lewers House situated on site in the gallery’s garden. As a local when you think of the cafe’s surroundings this building and the accompanying garden quickly come to mind.

Over time we have had the pleasure to continue working together and have been able to create multiple assets for both print and digital applications across social media, event collatorel, billboard and menu design. Cafe at Lewers has especially enjoyed the recent approach that we have been able to develop for document design in Canva. This is beneficial as the cafe offers seasonal menu options and this gives them great freedom to update and change their menu as needed.
